When you think of spreads , the first things that come to mind are probably meat and cream cheese: sausage spreads, Liptauer, cream cheese . These meat and dairy products have been around for centuries. But that doesn't mean they're the only ones of their kind.
In fact, you can use a huge range of ingredients to make a delicious vegan spread : no meat or cheese needed! In this blog post, we'll find out a bit more about vegan spreads , so you'll be in the best position to try them out for yourself.
Vegan spreads: how can I make my own?
A spread is quick and easy to make at home and offers thousands of customization options: no matter what your favorite vegetable is, you can make a spread with it.
Want to recreate the consistency of a 'traditional' spread? Easy: There are plenty of vegan options that don't contain dairy but are still full of flavor and creamy. Let's take a closer look at some ingredients that could be the basis of your perfect spread.
Vegan nut spread
Nuts, and especially cashews, are a staple ingredient in vegan cuisine because they are so versatile and rich in nutrients. In their natural form, they serve as a delicious and filling snack. Nuts are also a tasty addition to your curries or stews.
If you soak nuts and puree them, the crunchy nut becomes an incredibly creamy puree. You can use this cream perfectly as a cream substitute. Simply combine it with your favorite vegetables and herbs - your vegan spread is perfect.
Of course, you can also use other nuts to personalize your vegan topping . Why not try almonds or walnuts?
Vegan bean spread
Beans are easy to puree thanks to their soft texture, and are usually cheap and easy to buy at your local supermarket. The types of beans are similar in their use, but can offer you a unique flavor in your vegan spread . Combining them with herbs of your choice will make it a little different every time.
For example, you could create an Indian-inspired spread with chickpeas. They are often used in curries along with spices like cumin and turmeric. Or how about an Italian-inspired spread with cannelloni beans, or a Mexican-inspired one with black beans? Nothing stands in the way of your creativity.
Vegan seed spread
Like nuts, seeds are also rich in natural fats, which gives them a smooth, creamy texture when blended. They are also rich in minerals and vitamins, so your vegan spread will not only taste great, but will also do you good.
Sunflower seeds are the favorite of our GREENFORCE spreads; they form the basis of all spreads. The seeds ensure that the vegan spreads taste really good.
Vegan yoghurt for a spread
Vegan yoghurt is particularly suitable for a sweet spread. As a basic ingredient, it may be a little more expensive than the other suggested ingredients, but it is certainly a good alternative for those with allergies or intolerances. If you are allergic to nuts or seeds, soy or oat yoghurt is a good alternative.
Vegan yoghurt is often enriched with important vitamins and minerals: your spread therefore helps you to eat well.

GREENFORCE vegan spreads
Don't feel like making a spread from scratch yourself? Don't worry: we offer you a good selection of spreads to mix yourself. You can prepare these quickly and easily at home. Whether it's the new vegan tea sausage or a spicy curry mango spread , there's something here for everyone. The delicious spreads are easy to mix, cool and serve.
In addition, the powder form makes them easy to portion, which prevents food waste. Mix only what you need. The rest can stay in the cupboard until you want to enjoy it again.
Our unbeatable vegan spreads use different base ingredients to mimic the classic texture of a sausage or dairy-based spread. Let's take a closer look at these ingredients and find out what benefits they offer you.
Sunflower seeds
Sunflower seeds are the basic ingredient in some GREENFORCE products. As already mentioned, seeds are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, which is healthy on the one hand and at the same time ensures a creamy end product.
They are also rich in protein and minerals. 100 g of sunflower seeds contain 19 g of protein, 336 mg of magnesium (daily requirement 300-350 mg) and 38.8 mg of vitamin E (daily requirement 12-14 mg).
Sunflowers are grown in Germany under strict organic guidelines. Sunflowers are better suited to organic farming than rapeseed and soybeans. They require less nitrogen and are less susceptible to animal infestation and disease.
Pea protein
Pea protein is the star of the GREENFORCE brand and is used in many products in the range. Of course, it also appears in some spreads!
A study we conducted shows that pea protein requires 48 times less land, 8 times less water and 113 times less greenhouse gases than beef protein, making pea an unbeatable sustainable ingredient for many of our products.
Although our spreads are more of a substitute for sausage and cheese , avoiding these animal products also saves a lot of CO2 emissions. 100 grams of pea protein requires 0.44kg CO2e : In comparison, 100 grams of cheese protein causes 10.82kg CO2 and 100 grams of pork protein a whopping 7.61kg CO2.

Vegan tea sausage
A German classic , now available in vegan! The Teewurst has its origins in the village of Rügenwalde, which is now called Darłowo in Poland. Contrary to what some people think, the Teewurst does not contain tea.
The name actually refers to the time of day when tea was drunk: in the afternoon. In the past, people always ate bread with tea sausage with tea. But that doesn't mean that you can only enjoy your tea sausage at this time!
GREENFORCE's plant-based tea sausage can be used in many different ways. It can easily be adapted to many dishes and tastes.
Our recommendation: Teewurst sandwich with raspberries and radicchio . The combination makes for an incredibly delicious sweet and savory snack. Since our Teewurst is gluten-free, you can easily adapt this recipe to a gluten-free diet.

Looking for something extra spicy? Our version of the Slovak cheese preparation makes for a superbly tasty snack.

The vegan spread is made from controlled organic farming. No synthetic pesticides or genetic engineering were used in its production. *
